CHILLICOTHE, OH — The Chillicothe Police Department handled a range of incidents on January 2, 2025, including thefts, disturbances, traffic violations, and arrests.
The day began with a traffic stop on East Main Street at 3:04 a.m. in reference to a violation of lighted lights and an unpaid child support warrant. The investigation into this matter is ongoing. At 4:13 a.m., officers responded to a theft complaint at 315 E. Water Street. The investigation into this theft is also continuing.
Shortly after, at 4:21 a.m., police were dispatched to South Watt Street in response to a warrant-related call. The investigation into this case remains open.
The police responded to several calls during the late morning, including a violation of a protection order complaint on Ashley Drive at 11:48 a.m. and a criminal trespass complaint at McDonald’s on East Main Street at 12:09 p.m. Another criminal trespass complaint was investigated on Jefferson Avenue shortly after.
At 12:25 p.m., officers handled a telecommunication harassment complaint on West M Trotter Drive. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and a property return was processed without the need for a report on North Paint Street.
The afternoon saw continued action with a warrant investigation on West Water Street and a motor vehicle accident on Western Avenue at 3:11 p.m. The police also responded to a drug-related incident on North Bridge Street at 3:13 p.m., where an unconscious male was found, leading to an arrest for drug paraphernalia and possession of drugs.
At 6:46 p.m., officers made a traffic stop on East Main Street regarding expired plates and a license suspension. A short time later, a theft complaint on Vine Street was reported at 7:04 p.m., and the investigation is still in progress.
As the night progressed, police responded to a disorderly conduct call on Akron Street at 9:37 p.m. In this case, officers encountered visibly intoxicated individuals who were uncooperative and had been involved in an altercation at the residence earlier in the day. The investigation continues.
A traffic stop on South Douglas Avenue at 9:40 p.m. resulted in an arrest related to drug paraphernalia and a failure to yield violation. The final incident of the day took place on Fairway Avenue at 11:36 p.m., where officers responded to a disturbance report.
In total, the Chillicothe Police Department investigated 17 incidents on January 2, 2025, ranging from traffic offenses to criminal complaints, and arrested several individuals throughout the day.
