CHILLICOTHE, OH — Police are investigating a reported shooting incident that occurred on December 20, 2024, on Scioto Avenue. Officers were dispatched to the scene following a report from Rodney Robinette, who claimed that the back window of his car had been shot out.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with Robinette, who was a passenger in the vehicle at the time. He described hearing a loud popping noise while his son, Isaiah Robinette, was driving. Danea Gibson, also in the back seat, corroborated their account, noting the same sound.
Another passenger, Devon Henry, who had just exited the vehicle, reported that he believed he heard a gunshot and witnessed an individual running away from the scene. According to Henry, the suspect fled the area in a vehicle that drove eastbound on Water Street. Unfortunately, he was unable to provide a description of the individual or the vehicle.
Despite the alarming reports, officers already patrolling the area reported not hearing any shots. Detectives on the scene were granted permission to search the vehicle but did not locate any bullet casings or other evidence to support the shooting claim.
Rodney Robinette was informed that the damage to his vehicle could have been caused by a BB gun or a similar object. He was advised to contact the police department with any further information. As of now, there are no leads in the case, which will be closed pending any new developments.
