CHILLICOTHE, OH — Chillicothe police are investigating a reported theft at a local self-storage facility after multiple items, including firearms and electronics, were discovered missing from a storage unit.

The incident was reported at 67 Enterprise Place Drive. According to the locker owner, G, his storage unit, was broken into sometime within the past two weeks. The renter, who lives over an hour away, was alerted by the storage facility’s management late last night that the lock on his unit had been cut. He arrived at the site this morning to find further evidence of the break-in.

Upon inspection, he found that the industrial shipping container lock was missing, which would require a power tool to remove. Inside the unit, he discovered that several items were stolen, including a Toshiba 47-inch television, a 32-inch television of unknown brand, a Remington 870 Express shotgun, a Mossberg 500 shotgun, an unknown .410 shotgun, a .380 pistol, a .25 Derringer, a .22 long rifle, and five fishing rods and reels. Also reported missing were an eight-foot Ugly Stick rod, a miscellaneous bag of tools, and two vehicle power inverters.

The storage facility had several surveillance cameras around the property.

The front gate of the storage facility was found bent open, suggesting forced entry. The Chillicothe Police Department is continuing to investigate the theft and is working to secure any available surveillance footage to aid in solving the case.
