Chillicothe, OH — A routine traffic stop led to multiple arrests and drug charges on July 31, 2024, in Chillicothe after officers discovered illegal substances and paraphernalia during a vehicle inventory.
Around 3:00 PM, while on patrol in a marked cruiser, an officer pulled over a silver Kia with an expired temporary registration parked in the middle of Park Street. The vehicle, driven by Holly Davidson, initially moved a short distance before stopping in an alley. A check revealed that Davidson’s driver’s license was suspended and the vehicle’s registration had expired. The officer called for a tow truck to impound the car and began an inventory search, in line with department policy.
During the search, the officer discovered a red scale in the center console with white powder, indicative of drug use or trafficking. Further inspection of the vehicle revealed multiple clear baggies and a glass jar containing a larger quantity of white powder. At this point, the officer requested backup and placed Davidson in handcuffs.
Stanley Taylor, who arrived at the scene shortly after the stop, was seen handling a large sum of money and two cell phones that Davidson had handed to him. Upon inspection, a clear baggie containing a small amount of crystal substance fell from Taylor’s pocket. He was also placed in handcuffs. Both Taylor and Davidson were read their Miranda Rights.
Taylor admitted to having a pipe used for crack cocaine and that the baggie contained methamphetamine. He claimed to be unaware of the powder found in Davidson’s vehicle. Davidson, on the other hand, insisted that the white powder did not belong to her and was instead Taylor’s.
As Davidson and Taylor were transported to Ross County Jail, Davidson handed the officer a clear plastic baggie claiming it contained marijuana. However, no odor of marijuana was detected, and the bag felt wet. Upon arrival at the jail, Davidson exhibited erratic behavior, prompting a check by the nurse who suspected methamphetamine use.
During processing, Davidson was seen on the cruiser’s camera removing a glass pipe from her crotch and placing it into the padding of the cruiser. She also attempted to destroy evidence by eating a plastic baggie she had hidden in her bra. As a result, two additional charges of tampering with evidence were added to her booking.
Davidson was cited for driving under suspension and expired tags, and a notice of seizure was issued for her cell phones and money. A warrant will be requested to search the seized cell phones, and the substances will be sent to BCI for testing. The investigation remains ongoing pending lab results.
