CHILLICOTHE, OH — The Chillicothe Police Department responded to numerous incidents on January 20, 2025, including thefts, traffic violations, and a domestic violence report, according to the latest daily media report.
A domestic violence incident occurred early that morning on Pine Street, where officers responded to a call at 1:36 a.m. The investigation is ongoing, and no further details have been released at this time.
Throughout the day, the department dealt with several thefts. At 7:15 a.m., officers were dispatched to Safford Avenue for a theft without consent, and a similar report came in shortly after at 8:28 a.m. on River Trace Lane, which involved both theft and criminal trespass. Investigations into both cases are continuing.
Other thefts reported on January 20 included one on Washington Avenue at 8:54 a.m. and another at 1:57 p.m. at a local sporting goods store on North Bridge Street. Officers also responded to a vehicle theft report at 1:39 p.m. on North Bridge Street and another theft at 3:42 p.m. on East Fifth Street.
Traffic-related issues were also a significant focus for the police on the 20th. At 10:15 a.m., officers responded to a report of a broken window on a vehicle parked on North Bridge Street. Several traffic stops were conducted throughout the day, including one on a 2013 Kia Forte at 2:40 p.m. for expired plates. A driver identified as Michael Gabbert Jr. was stopped on East Water Street at 4:40 p.m. for driving under suspension (DUS).
In addition to these incidents, there were multiple reports of criminal mischief, including an 11:41 a.m. complaint on Sycamore Street and a report at 4:03 p.m. on Park Street. Officers also responded to a disorderly conduct complaint at 9:30 p.m. on North Bridge Street and a hit-and-run incident involving two semi-trucks at 9:35 p.m. on East Main Street.
