Shooting Assistance and Arrests
At 1:12 a.m., officers were dispatched to 833 Eastern Ave to assist the Ross County Sheriff’s Office with a shooting incident. The investigation is ongoing. Hours later, a call at 1:58 a.m. sent officers to 37 Ewing St. regarding a possible shooting, which also led to an investigation into vandalism and a warrant.
Assault on Police Dog
At 2:47 a.m., a traffic stop on E Main St resulted in an arrest, which involved charges of assaulting a police dog or a service animal. Further details were not provided.
Thefts and Vandalism
During the morning hours, CPD responded to several theft-related incidents, including a motor vehicle theft at 9:56 a.m. on West 5th Street and a criminal mischief report on Seneca Road at 10:22 a.m. Investigations into these cases are ongoing.
Criminal Trespass and Warrants
At 1:21 p.m., officers responded to a trespassing complaint at Speedway and Cheap Tobacco on North Bridge St. Tania Hutchison was barred from the premises. CPD also executed several arrests related to active warrants. These included a warrant arrest on E 2nd St. at 3:34 p.m. and another warrant arrest at Scioto Downs in Franklin County at 6:32 p.m.
Traffic Stops and Disorderly Conduct
Multiple traffic stops and disorderly conduct calls occurred throughout the day. Notably, at 5:34 p.m., a driver was stopped for unpaid fines and child support issues. Later, at 8:13 p.m., officers responded to a report of an intoxicated couple causing a domestic dispute near Walmart on River Trace Lane. Both individuals were arrested.
Other Incidents
Officers also responded to juvenile complaints, including one at Sherman Park at 11:08 p.m. and a suspicious vehicle report at 11:52 p.m. at Walmart, leading to drug-related arrests.
