Chillicothe Police Report Highlights for October 1, 2024

Chillicothe, OH — The Chillicothe Police Department responded to a range of incidents on October 1, 2024, including reports of shootings, missing persons, and various offenses throughout the city.

At approximately 3:41 AM, officers were dispatched to 370 McKellar Street following a report of a shooting. The investigation is ongoing.

Later that morning, a missing juvenile was reported from 59 West 7th Street, prompting a search by officers.

A warrant was executed at 28 North Paint Street, resulting in the apprehension of a suspect. Officers also arrested Marcus Goheen at the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office on an active warrant, transporting him to the Ross County Jail.

Criminal trespass complaints were reported at various locations, including Scioto Avenue and East Second Street, with investigations still in progress.

Traffic incidents included a number of stops for offenses such as failing to display license plates and driving under suspension due to unpaid fines. Officers also conducted traffic stops on East Main and Water Streets.

A significant incident occurred in the afternoon when officers served a search warrant at 343 South Watt Street related to permitting drug abuse. Further investigations revealed the presence of illegal activities at the residence.

Later in the day, officers responded to a complaint of discharging firearms at 314 East 4th Street and dealt with threats reported at Tiffin Towers on South Walnut Street.

The department logged a total of 29 reports throughout the day, with several investigations pending. Officers continue to prioritize public safety and respond to community concerns in Chillicothe.
