CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Chillicothe Police Department responded to a variety of incidents on January 8, 2025, including reckless driving, theft, and warrant arrests.
At approximately 9:01 PM, officers observed a white Dodge 1500 performing donuts in a parking lot behind Longhorn Steakhouse on North Bridge Street. After initiating a traffic stop, officers made contact with the driver, Miranda Board. She admitted to turning off her vehicle’s traction control to perform the maneuver, despite nearby businesses and patrons in the area. Board was charged with reckless operation on private property.
Earlier in the day, police served several warrants, including a probation violation warrant for Jessica Smith, who was summoned to appear in court on January 9, 2025. A warrant was also served at the Ross County/ Pickaway County line regarding another individual.
In addition to traffic-related incidents, officers were dispatched to several theft calls. At 2:55 PM, a theft involving deception was reported at Walmart on River Trace Lane. Later, at 8:50 PM, two electric scooters were reported stolen near Allen Avenue and Elm Street.
Another significant incident involved a reported stolen vehicle on East Main Street at 9:50 PM. The case is under investigation.
The police department also responded to a variety of disturbances, including a disorderly conduct call on Fairway Avenue at 3:09 AM and an ongoing investigation into extortion referred by the Internet Crimes Against Children task force at 10:00 AM.
