Chillicothe, OH – The Chillicothe Police Department responded to a variety of calls on November 20, 2024, addressing criminal offenses, traffic incidents, and community welfare concerns. Below is a summary of some key events from the day:

  • Warrant Arrests:
    At 11:13 p.m., police arrested an individual on a warrant at the Ross County Jail. A second warrant arrest was made later that evening at 11:51 p.m. at North Paint Street, with both arrests recorded in the daily police log.
  • Drug Offenses and Traffic Stops:
    A drug trafficking investigation was initiated following a traffic stop on a red Chevy truck at 2:15 a.m. on November 20. The investigation remains pending. Additionally, a warrant investigation began after a traffic stop involving a black Toyota Camry at 12:09 a.m. on Elm Street.
  • Criminal Mischief:
    Officers responded to a vandalism complaint at the Holiday Inn Express (1003 E Main St.) at 6:37 a.m. The investigation into the criminal mischief is ongoing.
  • Trespassing and Theft Reports:
    At 8:28 a.m., officers investigated a criminal trespassing complaint on South Walnut Street. Just moments later, at 8:29 a.m., another theft was reported on Park Street. Both investigations are continuing.
  • Drug Overdose and Death Investigation:
    A drug overdose was reported at 11:47 a.m. on Gilmore Street, with authorities continuing their investigation. Later in the day, at 2:23 p.m., police responded to a suspicious death at 1049 Columbus St., where the investigation is still in progress.
  • Telecommunications Harassment:
    The department responded to two separate harassment complaints throughout the day, the first on Lille Street at 1:49 p.m., and the second on Chestnut Street at 7:18 p.m. Both cases are under investigation.
  • Traffic Violations and Suspended License:
    At 7:40 p.m., an officer stopped a maroon Dodge Ram on North Bridge Street. During the stop, it was discovered that the driver, Roger Oney, was operating the vehicle with fictitious tags and was under a non-compliance driver’s license suspension. Oney was cited for Driving Under Suspension (DUS) and Fictitious Tags, with a court date scheduled for December 2, 2024.
  • Sexual Assault Investigation:
    A report of a possible sexual assault at 7:47 p.m. on East 7th Street was made, and police are investigating the incident.
  • Miscellaneous Incidents:
    Officers conducted multiple traffic stops, including those for speeding on Western Avenue at 9:06 a.m. and 9:24 a.m. throughout the day. Other responses included a non-injury crash at 1470 N Bridge St (Rural King) at 1:09 p.m., as well as a wellness check at N Plaza Blvd at 11:09 a.m.
