Chillicothe Police Respond to Busy Weekend of Crime and Incidents Across City

CHILLICOTHE, OH — Chillicothe Police had a busy Saturday night and Sunday morning, responding to multiple incidents ranging from disorderly conduct to theft and domestic violence, according to the department’s daily media report.

Shortly after midnight on April 26, officers were dispatched to the old Big Lots store on North Bridge Street for a burglary alarm. The investigation is ongoing, and officers also reported finding criminal tools at the scene.

Around 1:44 a.m., officers responded to a disturbance at The Wobbly Ghost on East Main Street for disorderly conduct. Shortly afterward, another disturbance was observed outside the same location, leading to an investigation into intoxicated disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Throughout the day, police handled several other cases:

  • Trespassing complaints at Chips Drive-Thru and a property on East Main Street.
  • Warrant service at a residence on North High Street.
  • Speed enforcement on Yaples Orchard Drive, resulting in two traffic stops for speeding.
  • Theft investigations at Walmart on River Trace Lane, with two separate incidents reported.
  • A vehicle crash at Orange Street and Erie Street, resulting in a citation issued for improper lane usage.
  • Criminal trespass complaint at Sunspot Tanning Salon on North Bridge Street.
  • A report of strangulation and assault at Cooper’s Glass Service on East Main Street.
  • A non-criminal call at Walnut Hills Drive, where a beaten male showed up on a doorstep.
  • Domestic violence investigation at a residence on Maple Avenue.

In total, Chillicothe Police reported 18 incidents over the course of April 26, 2025. Investigations are ongoing for several cases, and officers are urging anyone with additional information to come forward.
