
Chillicothe, OH – March 16, 2025 – The Chillicothe Police Department responded to a variety of incidents over the weekend, ranging from drug-related offenses to traffic violations and theft.
Drug-Related Incident at Scioto Shoe Mart
Early Saturday morning at 1:40 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Scioto Shoe Mart on Western Avenue after receiving reports of a male overdosing inside a vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.
Disorderly Conduct & Domestic Dispute
At 5:28 a.m., officers responded to a domestic dispute on Clay Street, which resulted in a report being filed. Shortly after, at 5:39 a.m., police were called to 47 N Bridge Street regarding a suspicious person. That investigation remains pending.
Theft Reported on Western Avenue
Later in the morning at 9:36 a.m., officers responded to a reported theft on Western Avenue. Authorities are continuing their investigation.
Traffic Incidents and Reckless Driving
Several traffic violations occurred throughout the day:
- At 1:08 p.m., officers responded to a crash on North Bridge Street involving a driver failing to yield while turning left.
- At 4:01 p.m., another collision took place in front of McDonald’s on North Bridge Street, where a driver failed to maintain a safe distance and rear-ended another vehicle. No injuries were reported. The driver, identified as Hope Sparks, was cited and given a court date of March 21, 2025.
- At 10:07 p.m., officers stopped two diesel pickup trucks on North Bridge Street after witnessing reckless driving and excessive smoke emissions. One driver was cited for reckless operation after admitting he was “just making it slide a little.”
Warrant Served & Trespassing at Walmart
- At 3:12 p.m., officers traveled to Montgomery County Jail to retrieve a female with an active Chillicothe Police Department warrant. She was transported back and booked into Ross County Jail.
- At 6:27 p.m., officers responded to Walmart on Rivertrace for a report of criminal trespassing. The investigation is ongoing.
The Chillicothe Police Department continues to investigate these incidents and urges residents to report any suspicious activity.
