On August 8, 2024, Chillicothe police officers were actively engaged in responding to a variety of incidents across the city, addressing cases ranging from disorderly conduct to multiple warrant arrests.
The day began with officers being dispatched to Planet Fitness on North Bridge Street just before 1 a.m. to handle a disorderly conduct situation. Shortly afterward, police were called to West 5th Street in response to an attempted burglary, where charges of criminal trespass and theft were reported.
In the early hours of the morning, domestic violence was reported at the IHOP on Consumer Center Drive. Later that morning, multiple traffic stops took place on North Bridge Street for speeding, with officers issuing citations.
Throughout the day, non-criminal complaints were also addressed, including a trespassing incident on Walnut Hills Drive and a situation involving a female standing in the street on Hildegarten Street. Investigations into these incidents are ongoing.
A theft by intimidation involving the misuse of a credit card was reported at the Law Enforcement Complex on North Paint Street. Additionally, a parking complaint on Leggett Avenue was addressed by the police.
In the afternoon, police responded to an unruly juvenile complaint at Central Center and a crash on West Main Street. Later, a man with an outstanding warrant voluntarily turned himself in at the Chillicothe Municipal Court. The man, identified as Michael Colvin, was arrested and taken into custody.
As the day progressed, officers handled a disorderly conduct case on Race Street involving an assault, and a report of a reckless driver on North Bridge Street, with the investigation still underway. A separate theft incident was reported on East 2nd Street, where the investigation is also pending.
Warrants played a significant role in the day’s activities. One arrest was made during a traffic stop near South Mulberry and East 7th Street, while another warrant was executed at Enderlin Circle after a man, Brett Stone, was found asleep on a park bench and subsequently arrested for failure to appear on a menacing charge.
In the evening, police were tipped off about the location of a woman, Lagenna Knight, who had three active warrants. She was found hiding in a bathroom in an apartment on Columbus Street and was taken into custody without incident.
In total, Chillicothe police handled 22 incidents on August 8, 2024, reflecting a busy day of law enforcement activities in the community.
