Chillicothe Police Respond to Multiple Incidents on February 14

CHILLICOTHE, OH – The Chillicothe Police Department responded to a variety of incidents throughout the city on February 14, 2025, ranging from disorderly conduct and theft to drug-related offenses and traffic violations.

Disorderly Conduct and Public Intoxication
Officers were dispatched to multiple locations for reports of disorderly conduct. Early in the morning, police responded to a disturbance on Washington Avenue, and later in the evening, another disorderly incident was reported at a residence on North High Street. Two separate cases of public intoxication leading to disorderly conduct were reported—one at the Cozy Inn on Western Avenue and another at Cheap Tobacco on North Bridge Street, where an intoxicated individual caused issues with a tow truck driver.

Theft and Property Crimes
Authorities investigated several theft-related incidents. A reported theft at the Law Enforcement Complex on North Paint Street remains under investigation, as does another theft case on Water Street. Officers also responded to an attempted theft on Melrose Drive, where detectives were contacted for further inquiry. A criminal trespassing complaint was also filed on Diehl Street.

Drug Overdose and Traffic Violations
A suspected drug overdose was reported on North Mulberry Street, with police continuing their investigation. Several traffic-related incidents also occurred, including two cases of driving under suspension. One driver was stopped on East Seventh Street and found to be under a non-compliance license suspension, while another was cited on Clay Street for a similar violation. Officers also responded to an accident on Main Street where a driver lost control of his vehicle, colliding with another car in a turn lane.

Assault and Other Offenses
Police responded to an assault at the rear of the YMCA on Mill Street, where a report was taken. Officers were also dispatched to East Main Street for an investigation into taunting and insulting behavior, and to Dayton Street for an unspecified complaint.
