Chillicothe Police Respond to Multiple Incidents on January 23, 2025

Chillicothe, OH – The Chillicothe Police Department (CPD) responded to a variety of calls on January 23, 2025, addressing incidents ranging from traffic violations to criminal activity, including an aggravated arson case.

A series of traffic stops and arrests were made throughout the day. At 2:02 a.m., officers initiated a traffic stop on East Second Street, leading to an arrest for expired plates and driving under suspension. Later, around 3:27 a.m. on North Paint Street, police arrested an individual on an outstanding warrant, while another warrant arrest occurred just after 5:54 a.m. on the same street.

At 6:29 a.m., officers were called to Valero on North Bridge Street regarding a male trespassing, which led to an investigation into obstructing official business and criminal trespass charges. That investigation is ongoing.

Several theft incidents were also reported, including a theft without consent at Houch’s Liquor Store on East Main Street, where a theft from the previous day was reported at 10:54 a.m. Investigations into these thefts are continuing. Another theft occurred at 11:37 a.m. at a North Bridge Street location, where suspects fled before police could respond.

Throughout the afternoon, officers handled more criminal cases, including a disorderly conduct incident at Fairway Avenue at 1:19 p.m., and a warrant arrest at 5:19 p.m. on North Paint Street. Officers were also dispatched to a criminal trespass call at Diehl Street at 6:13 p.m. and a crash investigation on North Bridge Street around 6:19 p.m.

Later in the evening, CPD responded to a report of an aggravated arson at 11:11 p.m. on Theatre Street, where authorities investigated a fire at an occupied structure.

As the day unfolded, police continued to address numerous incidents, including traffic citations, disorderly conduct calls, and theft investigations. The department remains actively engaged in investigating these cases as they develop.
