Chillicothe Police Respond to Multiple Incidents on March 1st

CHILLICOTHE, OHIO – The Chillicothe Police Department responded to various incidents throughout the city on March 1, 2025, including traffic violations, thefts, and disorderly conduct.

Traffic Violations and Citations

  • 12:28 AM – A driver was cited for a red light violation at E. Main St. and Watt St.
  • 1:21 AM – A traffic stop at 787 Washington Ave. led to a citation for driving under suspension (DUS) due to FRA & random verification suspension.
  • 5:39 PM – Another traffic stop on E. Main St. resulted in a citation for an expired plate and DUS.
  • 6:34 PM – Officers stopped a vehicle on N. Watt St. near E. Water St. for expired tags. The driver was cited.
  • 9:06 PM – Kevin Groves was pulled over on E. Main St. after being paced at 45 mph in a 25 mph zone near Mulberry St. He was cited for speeding and given a March 10 court date.

Theft Reports Under Investigation

  • 11:56 AM – Officers were dispatched to Walmart on River Trace Ln. for a theft complaint. The investigation is ongoing.
  • 2:00 PM – Another theft was reported on S. Walnut St., also under investigation.

Crash and Leaving the Scene

  • 3:09 PM – Police responded to Columbia Ave. for a crash where the driver left the scene. The investigation is pending.

More Serious Offenses

  • 10:38 PM – Officers were dispatched to University Dr. for a domestic violence complaint, where the suspect may face unlawful restraint and criminal trespass charges. The investigation continues.
  • 10:58 PM – A call to 530 Arch St., Apt. 18, resulted in police responding to a disorderly conduct incident.
