Chillicothe Police Respond to Multiple Incidents Over the Weekend

CHILLICOTHE, OH – The Chillicothe Police Department (CPD) was busy over the weekend, responding to a variety of incidents, including firearm discharges, drug-related offenses, and trespassing complaints.

Traffic Stops and Drug-Related Offenses

In the early hours of February 16, CPD officers conducted multiple traffic stops across the city. At 12:31 a.m., a stop was conducted on Hirn Street for a stop sign violation. At 2:25 a.m., officers initiated another stop on East 4th Street, which led to an investigation into drug possession involving a Schedule I or II substance. The case remains under investigation.

Shots Fired on South Walnut Street

At 7:26 a.m., dispatch received reports of gunfire at a residence on the 200 block of South Walnut Street. Officers arrived at the scene and launched an investigation into the firearm discharge. Details remain limited as authorities continue to gather information.

Criminal Trespassing and Disturbances

Officers responded to several criminal trespassing incidents throughout the day. At 9:17 a.m., a subject was barred from a property on East Main Street following a trespassing complaint. Later, at 12:38 p.m., officers were dispatched to Sack N Save on East Main Street for another trespassing report. Additional trespassing complaints were reported on Lille Street and South Mulberry Street in the evening hours, including an incident at the Old Salem Community Church.

Warrant Arrest

In the afternoon, CPD officers traveled to Pickaway County Jail to retrieve a suspect, identified as Zackary Sparks, who had outstanding warrants for probation violations. Sparks was transported to Ross County Jail without incident.

Traffic Violations and Disorderly Conduct

Several citations were issued for traffic violations, including expired plates, failure to control, and driving under suspension. Officers also responded to a 911 hang-up call on West Water Street at 11:57 p.m., which resulted in a disorderly conduct report.
