
CHILLICOTHE, OH — April 5, 2025 — The Chillicothe Police Department responded to a variety of incidents across the city on April 4, 2025, according to the department’s daily media report. A total of 22 reports were filed, including arrests on outstanding warrants, theft investigations, traffic violations, and multiple disorderly conduct calls.
Warrant Arrests and Domestic Disputes
Three individuals were taken into custody on outstanding warrants, including Derek Spaeth, who was arrested at his Marlboro Drive residence for violating protection orders. Officers also responded to several domestic and disorderly conduct calls, including two incidents on Fruit Hill Drive and at the America’s Best Value Inn on East Main Street.
Theft and Vehicle Complaints
Officers investigated multiple thefts, including one at the Par Mar Store on North Bridge Street and a vehicle theft reported at 990 Columbus Street. A separate unauthorized use of a motor vehicle case was reported on Hirn Street, and several thefts “without consent” are currently under active investigation.

Traffic Violations and Safety Concerns
Traffic stops led to citations for running red lights, operating without proper licenses, and driving under suspension. Notably, Samuel Eblin was cited on East Main Street for driving under a non-compliance suspension and running a red light. Another driver, Shaylynn Grave, was cited for failing to obey a traffic control device.
Other Incidents
Officers were also called to address a nuisance littering complaint on Maple Avenue, a trespassing issue at Tiffin Towers on South Walnut Street, and a juvenile-related matter on North Paint Street. Additionally, several non-criminal matters involving public safety and complaints were recorded throughout the day.
