Chillicothe Police Respond to Thefts, Drug Possession, and Domestic Incidents in Latest Report

CHILLICOTHE, OH – The Chillicothe Police Department responded to a variety of incidents on February 28, 2025, including thefts, drug possession, domestic disputes, and multiple traffic violations, according to its latest media report.

Crime and Arrests

  • Theft Reports: Officers were dispatched to several locations, including Speedway on N Bridge St., a residence on W 5th St., and Wal-Mart, following reports of stolen property. Investigations are ongoing.
  • Drug Possession: A routine traffic stop on a maroon Toyota led to the discovery of a Schedule I or II controlled substance. The investigation remains open.
  • Criminal Trespass: Officers responded to Quality Inn on N Plaza Blvd around 5 a.m. regarding suspicious individuals on the property.
  • Domestic Violence: A juvenile-related domestic violence case was reported on E Water St., with an investigation underway.
  • Disorderly Conduct & Menacing: Officers were called to S Walnut St. twice for separate incidents involving a domestic dispute and a juvenile acting aggressively. Another disturbance occurred on N Bridge St., where a man allegedly attempted to fight multiple people.
  • Warrant Arrests: Two individuals were taken into custody on outstanding warrants, including one at Kroger on N Bridge St..

Traffic Stops and Violations

  • Officers issued multiple citations throughout the day for speeding, fictitious plates, and obstructed license plates in areas such as Yoctangee Parkway, Paint St., and Main St.
  • A failure to yield incident resulted in a collision at 825 N Bridge St., with one driver cited for not yielding from a private driveway.

Ongoing Investigations

Police are still investigating a theft from a vehicle on W 5th St., a child found in the roadway without supervision, and reports of suspicious activity on Shawnee Ln.
