
CHILLICOTHE, OH – Local law enforcement responded to a variety of incidents over the weekend, including thefts, traffic stops, and drug-related arrests, according to the Chillicothe Police Department’s media report.
Traffic Stops and Drug Arrests
Early Sunday morning, officers conducted a traffic stop at 61 N. Bridge St., resulting in an arrest for failure to signal, tampering with evidence, and drug-related charges. Later, around 4:56 a.m., police arrested another individual for drug possession and paraphernalia after responding to a reckless driving complaint at the Pilot parking lot on E. Main St.
Hit-and-Run Incidents Under Investigation
Authorities are investigating multiple hit-and-run accidents, including one at the Pilot Gas Station on E. Main St. at 7:56 a.m. and another later in the evening at 1111 E. Main St. involving private property damage.
Thefts Reported Across the City
Officers responded to several reports of theft, including vehicle break-ins on N. Watt St. and E. 2nd St. A theft was also reported at the Dollar General on E. Main St., while another occurred at a Walmart on River Trace Ln., leading to an arrest. Additional investigations are ongoing regarding incidents on S. Watt St. and Plyleys Ln.
Disorderly Conduct and Assault Cases
Police were called to multiple locations for disorderly behavior, including an assault investigation on Warner Ave. and a disturbance at America’s Best Value Inn on E. Main St.
Warrant Arrests and OVI Stops
Authorities served a warrant at the Ross County Jail late Sunday night, leading to an arrest. Another traffic stop at Main and Paint St. resulted in an OVI (Operating a Vehicle Impaired) investigation.
