CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Chillicothe Police Department was kept busy on July 24th, 2024, responding to a wide range of incidents throughout the day, addressing public safety concerns across various neighborhoods.

The day began with routine traffic stops and quickly escalated to more serious matters:

Early in the morning, an officer initiated a traffic stop on Cutright Dr for failure to dim headlights and driving under suspension (DUS), marking the start of a busy shift.

Another traffic stop on Akron St led to an investigation involving a White Ford SUV suspected of drug trafficking and driving under suspension for all other suspensions.

At Valero on N Bridge St, officers responded to a criminal trespass complaint, underscoring ongoing challenges related to property security in the area.

Later in the morning, officers were dispatched to E 4th St for a drug overdose incident, highlighting the city’s ongoing struggle with substance abuse.

Throughout the day, officers conducted multiple traffic stops across Chillicothe for various violations including speeding, red light infractions, and overnight parking issues.

Incidents involving disorderly conduct, domestic disputes, and warrants kept officers engaged in ongoing investigations, reflecting the diverse nature of calls received by law enforcement.

As the day progressed, officers responded to calls ranging from criminal trespasses at local businesses to non-criminal incidents requiring welfare checks and juvenile matters.
