CIRCLEVILLE, OH – Richie Verito, a Circleville business owner turned actor, is stepping into the spotlight—both on screen and on air. Verito will appear this Sunday at 5 p.m. on What Really Matters with Mindy and Mikaela on 610 AM to discuss the upcoming debut Down to the Felt, and his transition into acting.
Represented by The Talent Group, Verito is one of the cast members in Down to the Felt, a darkly comic action film that has already made waves in the independent film circuit. Joining him in the studio will be the film’s director, co-writer, and producer Jon Osbeck, a Columbus-based filmmaker making his feature directorial debut.
Set against the backdrop of Columbus, Down to the Felt tells the story of Paul Murphy, a down-on-his-luck gambler who, after losing everything in a single day—including his job, girlfriend, and financial stability—hatches a desperate plan. Paul hires a hitman to take him out in two weeks so his mother can collect his life insurance policy. But as his luck starts to turn, and a mysterious woman enters his life, Paul must scramble to stop the plan before it’s too late.
The film stars Michael Stahl-David (Narcos, Cloverfield) as Paul, and Michael Weston (Home Before Dark) as David, a Jewish hitman. Directed by Jon Osbeck(best known for Amazon’s A League of Their Own). It will premiere in Columbus on April 30 at the historic Southern Theatre as part of the Cinema Columbus Film Festival. Tickets to the premiere are already sold out, signaling strong anticipation for the film’s debut.
Verito’s appearance on 610 AM this weekend offers audiences a look at the making of Down to the Felt, his journey from local entrepreneur to actor, and what it means to be part of a major indie production filmed in the heart of Ohio.
