Circleville, OH – January 7, 2025 – As a winter storm blanketed Circleville this past weekend, the Hampton Inn on South Court Street opened its doors to local first responders, offering them a place to rest, recharge, and receive some much-needed warmth during the height of the storm.

With around 8 to 10 inches of snow falling and a level three snow emergency shutting down roads to all but essential employees, many local safety forces worked extended hours, sometimes away from their families. Recognizing the challenges first responders face during these conditions, Hampton Inn owner Shaun Pan reached out to offer free stays for those on the frontlines of the storm.

In a message sent to local authorities, Pan extended an invitation to all Pickaway County Sheriff officers, emergency dispatchers, Circleville police, fire department personnel, public works employees, and other first responders. He stated, “We would like to offer all City of Circleville public works employees, police, fire, first responders, and dispatchers free rooms at the Hampton Inn this Sunday and Monday. Even if the snowplow drivers want to come in to get a few hours of sleep between shifts, they are welcome.”

The hotel offered rooms for as long as needed, whether for a brief power nap, a hot shower, or an overnight stay. Pan also offered rooms to any stranded motorists or accident victims in need of shelter. “If the police or fire encounter any stranded motorist or accident/fire victims that need a room, send them to Hampton Inn— all free rooms,” he added in his message.

For first responders who were working tirelessly throughout the storm, the free rooms, hot meals, and cups of coffee were more than just a gesture of hospitality—they were a lifeline that made a significant difference. “A free place to sleep, a hot meal, and a place to relax for a few hours can make all the difference for those saving lives and helping the community,” Pan said.

Local leaders, including Mayor Michelle Blanton and Sheriff Hafey, shared the message with their departments, ensuring that those who needed a break from their demanding shifts could take advantage of the offer.

The Hampton Inn’s generosity stands as a testament to the power of community support, ensuring that essential workers have the resources they need to continue providing safety and services, even during the toughest of storms. “We want to express our gratitude to all the men and women who have stepped up during this storm,” said Mayor Blanton. “It’s heartwarming to see local businesses like the Hampton Inn supporting our heroes when they need it most.”

Thanks to the hospitality of the Hampton Inn, first responders were able to continue their critical work during the snowstorm, knowing that a warm, welcoming space was available for rest and recovery.
