Circleville, OH — The Circleville Police Department responded to a series of incidents on August 14, 2024, addressing a range of issues across the city.
The day began with several checks and patrols. Officers responded to suspicious person reports on Pontious Lane and South Court Street early in the morning, with no significant findings. Extra patrols were conducted on North Court Street, Sycamore Drive, and Pontious Road, all resulting in no issues.
The first notable event of the day was reported at 5:18 AM on Clinton Street, where a suspicious person prompted a report. Later, an alarm drop on West Main Street at 6:51 AM was checked and found to be okay. By 7:13 AM, a juvenile complaint on South Pickaway Street did not lead to a report, and a 911 hang-up on Starkey Drive at 7:18 AM resulted in information being obtained.
The morning continued with an animal call and found property report on East Main Street, followed by a traffic offense on North Court Street and a non-injury accident on East Main Street. At 11:13 AM, a burglary report was taken on East Union Street, and a domestic trouble incident on South Court Street led to a squad transport to the hospital.
The afternoon saw several additional calls, including a runaway report on East Franklin Street and a juvenile complaint on East Ohio Street. A found property case on East Franklin Street and a trespassing report on South Court Street rounded out the afternoon’s activities.
In the evening, Circleville officers managed a mix of disturbances and civil matters, including a fraud report on East Franklin Street and a fight on East Mill Street. Notably, a request for mutual aid on US Route 23 was cancelled before arrival.
Later incidents included a violation of a protection order on Clark Drive, domestic trouble on Lancaster Pike, and several other calls resulting in reports or information being obtained. By late evening, police handled a domestic trouble call on Lancaster Pike that led to an arrest, and another domestic issue on 3rd Avenue resulted in a report.
The night concluded with checks and patrols, including a report of an open door on Lancaster Pike, which was found to be secure.
