Circleville Police were kept busy on Thursday, April 10, responding to 27 separate incidents throughout the city, ranging from suspicious activity and well-being checks to theft, traffic accidents, and juvenile complaints.
Early in the morning, officers were dispatched to Gumm Place and Norfolk Avenue for reports of suspicious persons and well-being concerns, though in each case, the individuals were gone before officers arrived.
A series of theft reports came in throughout the day, including incidents on Lancaster Pike and South Court Street, where officers took reports but made no arrests. A stolen vehicle report was also filed on East Union Street around 12:20 p.m.
Officers responded to several accidents as well. A hit-skip crash on Renick Avenue led to an arrest shortly after 3 p.m., and another accident involving injuries occurred on East Main Street later that afternoon. A separate non-injury crash on North Court Street resulted in a citation.
Juvenile-related calls were reported on North Court Street and East Ohio Street, with one unruly juvenile case resulting in a report. However, other juvenile complaints ended with officers unable to locate the individuals involved.
Suspicious vehicle and person calls were also logged, including one near East Main Street and another on Pontious Lane, the latter of which was determined to be unfounded after a check.
The day concluded with a harassment complaint on East Main Street around 11:12 p.m. and a suspicious person report on South Court Street shortly after, both prompting official reports or follow-ups.
Circleville Police continue to monitor and respond to community needs around the clock.
