The Circleville Police Department responded to a wide range of incidents on Wednesday, April 16, logging 41 total service calls over a 24-hour period. The reports highlight a mix of routine safety checks, disturbances, and multiple cases resulting in arrests and formal reports.
Early Morning Activity
The day began with two 911 hang-up calls from East Ohio Street around midnight, both of which were checked and found to be non-emergencies. A warrant arrest was made on Town Street at approximately 1:44 a.m., followed by a disturbance report on South Pickaway Street that was also cleared as okay.
Midday Incidents
Throughout the late morning and early afternoon, officers investigated several calls involving suspicious vehicles, 911 hang-ups, and alarm drops—many of which were determined to be false or resolved on scene.
- At 11:22 a.m., found property was reported on North Court Street.
- A non-injury accident occurred on South Court Street at 2:58 p.m., which led to an arrest.
- A second warrant-related incident was reported on Island Road just before 2 p.m.
Evening Highlights
The evening hours were busier with several incidents resulting in arrests and reports:
- Theft reports were filed for two separate incidents on U.S. Route 23 South around 7:18 and 7:56 p.m.
- A disturbance on Pontious Lane at 8:09 p.m. resulted in an arrest.
- Reports of vandalism on East Union Street and trespassing on Lancaster Pike were documented shortly before 8:30 p.m.
Officers also handled multiple calls for suspicious persons, well-being checks, and threats or harassment throughout the day, with varying outcomes from full reports taken to on-site advisements. Notably, a report of a violation of a protection order on Nicholas Drive at 9:49 p.m. did not result in a report being filed.
Final Reports of the Night
The final two calls of the evening included a non-injury crash on Morris Road at 11:15 p.m. and another 911 hang-up on Kingston Court shortly before midnight.
The Circleville Police Department continues to urge the public to report any suspicious activity and reminds residents that not all calls result in reports or arrests, but each is taken seriously and responded to with appropriate action.
