The Circleville Police Department handled 92 incidents over the weekend, responding to a range of calls including burglaries, thefts, traffic stops, and disturbances.
Criminal Activity & Thefts
Several reports of theft and burglary were taken across the city. Officers responded to:
- A burglary on S. Court St. early Friday morning.
- Theft incidents on E. Ohio St., S. Court St., and E. Mill St. throughout Friday.
- A breaking & entering and theft report on Atwater Ave. on Saturday.
- Additional theft reports on Clark Dr. and Weldon Ave. on Sunday.
Traffic & Road Safety
Traffic stops were frequent, with multiple warnings and citations issued. Officers also checked on disabled vehicles and responded to traffic offenses on Main St. and Court St.
Disturbances & Suspicious Activity
- Several 911 hang-ups were checked but found to be non-emergencies.
- Officers were called to disturbances and suspicious circumstances, including a fight on S. Court St. early Sunday.
- Reports of juvenile complaints and dirt bike/ATV violations were investigated, though many were gone on arrival.
Public Safety & Welfare Checks
- Officers checked on multiple well-being concerns, including a mental health-related call on N. Court St.
- A domestic dispute was reported on Bolens Ave., leading to a report being taken.
- A fire on US 23 S was contained without further incident.
Ongoing Investigations
Cases of fraud, harassment, and threats were also reported, with some being referred to other agencies.
