Circleville Police Respond to a Series of Incidents on August 8, 2024

Circleville police were kept busy on August 8, 2024, responding to a variety of incidents throughout the city. The day began with a report of domestic trouble on Logan Street shortly after midnight, resulting in a report being taken. A series of suspicious circumstances followed, including a suspicious vehicle on Atwater Avenue and a 911 hang-up call on North Scioto Street, both of which were cleared with no issues found.

As the morning progressed, officers dealt with multiple traffic stops on Dunkel Road, issuing warnings and citations. Property damage and theft were also significant concerns, with reports taken on East Franklin Street, South Pickaway Street, and Mowrer Road. A stolen vehicle was reported on Roundtown Square and later on East Ohio Street.

Later in the day, a report of a person with a gun on North Court Street was investigated, with the situation deemed safe. Several instances of threats and harassment were reported across the city, including on Watt Street, East Franklin Street, and North Court Street.

The afternoon and evening hours saw continued police activity, including well-being checks, additional traffic stops, and a repossession of a vehicle on South Pickaway Street. Officers also responded to multiple 911 hang-ups, all of which were found to be non-threatening upon investigation.

In total, Circleville police handled 43 incidents on August 8, 2024, addressing a range of concerns from domestic issues and theft to suspicious circumstances and traffic violations.
