
CIRCLEVILLE, OH – The Circleville Police Department responded to over 100 incidents between February 21 and February 23, handling a variety of calls ranging from extra patrols to burglary reports and domestic disturbances.
Increased Patrols and Routine Checks
Throughout the three-day period, officers conducted numerous extra patrols across the city, particularly on East Franklin Street, North Court Street, and Walnut Street. Business and security checks were also carried out, all of which were found to be in order.
Major Incidents Reported
Among the more serious incidents, officers responded to a reported burglary on U.S. 23 in the early morning hours of February 21, taking a report on the matter. Additionally, property damage was reported on East Franklin Street, and a fire was extinguished on North Court Street later that morning.
The department also received reports of theft on Nicholas Square, Town Street, East Mound Street, and North Pickaway Street. Officers took reports in these instances to assist with ongoing investigations.
Traffic and Public Safety
Several traffic stops were conducted over the three-day period, resulting in a mix of citations and warnings. Stops were made on South Court Street, U.S. Route 23, and Lancaster Pike, among other locations. A traffic offense on Clark Drive led to an arrest.
Authorities also handled a series of well-being checks, suspicious person reports, and domestic disturbances. One well-being check on Lancaster Pike resulted in an individual being transported to a hospital by emergency responders.
Community and Civil Matters
Police addressed multiple civil issues, including paperwork service and disputes. An animal complaint on South Pickaway Street and a railroad complaint on South Court Street were also reported, though no further action was taken in those cases.
Ongoing Investigations
Cases involving fraud, threats, vandalism, and harassment are currently under review, with officers continuing to investigate reports made over the past few days. The police department urges residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
