Chillicothe, OH – Circleville Police were kept busy throughout Thursday, April 3, responding to a wide range of incidents, from domestic disputes and thefts to fire alarms and downed utility lines.

The day began just after midnight with an alarm drop on Lancaster Pike, which was determined to be a false alarm. A few hours later, at 2:03 a.m., officers responded to a domestic disturbance on Barry Drive, resulting in an arrest. Fire calls followed shortly after on Island Road and Hayward Street, both found to be non-threatening.

Multiple alarm drops occurred overnight, including locations on North Court Street and Northridge Road, all of which checked out safely. A suspicious person was reported on West Main Street around 5:10 a.m., but no report was filed.

As the morning progressed, the city experienced issues with utility lines. Lines or poles were reported down on East Union Street and Clinton Street between 8 and 9 a.m., prompting clear calls from the department. A 911 hang-up on Gumm Place led to a well-being check, but the individual was gone on arrival.

Domestic issues remained a concern throughout the day, with separate reports taken on Walnut Street and Juhl Road—the latter referred to another agency. Theft was also a recurring issue, with reports taken from South Washington Street, South Court Street, and Logan Street. A stolen vehicle report was filed on South Court Street around 3 p.m.

Traffic stops throughout the day resulted in warnings, while a dirt bike/ATV complaint on East Mound Street around 8 p.m. ended with officers unable to locate the subject. A found property report was filed late in the evening on Lancaster Pike.

Other notable calls included a well-being check on Gumm Place (second call of the day for that address), multiple 911 hang-ups, a parking complaint on Watt Street that included possible drug intel (subject gone on arrival), and a squad transport from an alarm/fire call also on Lancaster Pike.

In total, Chillicothe Police responded to 37 separate incidents on April 3.

Residents are reminded to stay aware of their surroundings and report suspicious activity by contacting local authorities or utilizing 911 in emergencies.
