Circleville to Host Screening of Rare 1928 Pumpkin Show Film

CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio, Aug. 16, 2024 — History enthusiasts and film lovers alike are in for a treat as the Pickaway County Historical and Genealogical Library presents a rare screening of the 1928 Silver Jubilee Pumpkin Show film. The screening will take place on Monday, August 19, 2024, at 7:05 p.m. at the library located at 210 North Court Street, Circleville.

This newly discovered film offers a fascinating glimpse into the past, featuring highlights from the iconic Pumpkin Show, including a Bo Peep parade, early amusement attractions, horses and wagons, exotic animals such as bears and lions, and vintage rides. Viewers will also catch a glimpse of the Interurban tracks and the renowned Coon Brothers, among other historical elements of the time.
