Helping the Hungry – (L. to R.) Circleville Turkey Trot 5K directors Doug Kohli and Jim Rocklin present a check to PICCA’s Becky Hammond and Nick Pruitt.

CIRCLEVILLE, OHIO (December 31, 2024) – Pickaway County Community Action
Organization (PICCA) received a check for $8,712.82 to support its efforts to fight hunger in the
community.
The money was raised from St. Philip’s Episcopal Church’s annual Circleville Turkey Trot 5K,
held the morning of Thanksgiving on Nov. 28. More than 300 runners and walkers from seven
states were registered for this year’s event.
“We’re really happy,” said Jim Rocklin, co-director of the race. “We did well in 2023 to raise
$7,400 and did even better this year. We hope to beat that total in 2025.”
Rocklin said participants in this year’s event ranged from 5-years-old to 90-years-old. Of the 303
people who were registered, 289 checked in on race day. The race was founded in 2015.
PICCA Executive Director Becky Hammond said the donation helps feed those in need.
“We are so thankful for the organizers and sponsors of this event,” Hammond said. “The funds
will go a long way to providing a hand up to families in need.”
Major sponsors of the Circleville Turkey Trot are The Savings Bank, Webb Trucking and
Circleville Eagles. Other key sponsors are Uptown Circleville, OhioHealth and Homeland Credit Union.
