CIRCLEVILLE – The National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA), a nationwide association of school communicators and education professionals, has named Circleville City Schools superintendent Jonathan Davis to the NSPRA’s “Superintendents to Watch for 2018-19.” One of only 25 superintendents selected nationwide for the distinction, Mr. Davis has been honored for his demonstration of dynamic leadership with a strong emphasis on transparency, integrity, and innovation in terms of communication. Along with the award, he will be featured on the NSPRA website and in its newsletter, along with various other education publications in the upcoming year.

“The job of Superintendent involves great responsibility and finesse when it comes to communicating with school board members, districts, families and members of the public,” said assistant superintendent Kyle Uhrig who supported Davis’ nomination for the award. “Jonathan’s level of professionalism in this manner is unparalleled and his ability to empower staff to always do what is best for kids through open communication is his calling card as a communicator, educator, and father.”

Since being named superintendent of Circleville City Schools in March of 2016, Mr. Davis has consistently implemented a comprehensive communications program to keep families, staff, and community members informed and engaged in the activities of their schools and the district. Since then Davis has empowered staff to use Twitter as a way to engage parents and collaborate, started a school blog to provide classroom updates, changed staff culture through implementing Focus3 trainings, and also established a communications department within his first year. Through these channels, Davis has used two-way, mutually beneficial communication as a medium to promote transparency, honesty, integrity, trust, and foster community engagement throughout our schools as a means to benefit kids at every step.
