Ohio University Chillicothe is excited to announce the opening of the Coffee Hub and Cafe, located inside the Stevenson Center on campus. The cafe, which had a soft opening in December, will officially open to students, faculty, staff, and the community on Monday, January 13, 2025, marking the beginning of the spring semester.
Owned and operated by local entrepreneur Bobbi Blanton, the Coffee Hub and Cafe will offer a wide range of specialty drinks, including espresso-based beverages, cold brew, drip coffee, and more. In addition to coffee drinks, the cafe will serve fresh, daily-made sandwiches, salads, and baked goods.
The cafe will be open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., providing an inviting space for students and community members alike. A grand opening event is scheduled for Tuesday, January 21, at 10 a.m. The celebration will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony, giveaways, and other exciting activities.
Blanton, a longtime local business owner, is known for her successful ventures, including Brick Haven Spa, Cranberry Boutique, and The Coffee Hub. She was named the 2024 Entrepreneur of the Year by the Chillicothe Ross Chamber of Commerce. A former nursing student at Ohio University Chillicothe, Blanton is excited to return to campus as an entrepreneur, meeting the demand for a culinary option that benefits students and local residents.
“I’m so excited to bring the Coffee Hub and Cafe to Ohio University Chillicothe,” Blanton said. “Not only will we serve the campus community, but we also hope to provide a welcoming place for those in the area who are looking for a great cup of coffee and a place to gather.”
Ohio University Chillicothe’s Dean of Campus and Community Relations, Roberta Milliken, expressed enthusiasm about the new addition to the Stevenson Center.
“We are thrilled that our students will now have a comfortable, on-campus space to gather, study, or connect over coffee or a meal at the Coffee Hub and Cafe,” Milliken said. “With its inviting large windows, patios, fireplace, and study rooms, the Stevenson Center is the perfect place for students, faculty, staff, and community members, and the addition of the Coffee Hub and Cafe makes it even more special.”
The Coffee Hub and Cafe is expected to become a popular gathering spot on campus, offering a cozy environment for the Ohio University Chillicothe community to enjoy quality food, drinks, and conversation.
