COLUMBUS, OH – A Columbus man is facing serious charges after authorities uncovered a large-scale counterfeit credit card operation linked to a local gas station.

On Tuesday, February 25, 2024, detectives executed a search warrant at the home of Alando Thompson Jr., discovering a trove of fraudulent credit cards, card skimmers, and electronic devices used in the scheme. Investigators say Thompson had been encoding counterfeit cards with stolen financial information.

A forensic analysis of his electronics revealed evidence of 653 skimmed credit cards, with records dating back to July 4, 2024. Police say Thompson exploited his position at Speedway, 715 Brown Road, to collect card data from unsuspecting customers.

Authorities are now working to identify victims and are urging anyone who suspects their credit or bank card information may have been compromised at the Brown Road Speedway to contact Detective Kubinski at 614-237-6333 ext. 1247.

Officials stress the importance of public cooperation in bringing justice to those affected by the fraud.
