Columbus, OH – The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Natural Areas and Preserves has announced special deer hunts at eight state nature preserves across Ohio during the 2024-25 hunting season. The hunts aim to manage deer populations that threaten native plant communities.
The preserves offering special hunts are:
- Boch Hollow (Hocking County) – Gun
- Caesar Creek (Warren County) – Late Season Archery
- Davey Woods (Champaign County) – Archery
- Goll Woods (Fulton County) – Archery
- Hueston Woods (Butler and Preble counties) – Late Season Archery
- Lake Katharine (Jackson County) – Gun, Muzzleloader, and Archery
- Lawrence Woods (Hardin County) – Archery
- Stage’s Pond (Pickaway County) – Gun
Hunters must attend a mandatory meeting for each preserve they wish to hunt and purchase a $5 ticket to enter the lottery drawing. Successful entrants will be assigned a specific hunting time and must possess a valid 2024-2025 hunting license.
