CIRCLEVILLE, OH – A familiar face is back at the Circleville Police Department as Bob Chapman, former Deputy Chief, has returned to the department on a part-time basis after retiring in 2020. With over 30 years of experience in law enforcement, Chapman is now lending his expertise to the department’s Property Room.

Chapman, who retired after three decades of dedicated service to the city, is rejoining the police force in a new role, where he will oversee property and evidence management—a key area identified as a need in a recent review by an outside consultant.

“We’re excited to welcome Bob back to the team,” said Circleville Police Chief. “His wealth of experience and deep knowledge of law enforcement procedures are invaluable. Having him back, even part-time, is a real asset to our department.”

Chapman’s return is part of a broader effort to strengthen the department’s operations and ensure the effective handling of property and evidence. His role will include overseeing the Property Room, a critical area that requires careful attention to detail and adherence to protocols.

“We’re lucky to have Bob back,” Chief said. “His experience, work ethic, and commitment to the community make him a great fit for this important role.”

Chapman’s return reflects his ongoing commitment to public service and his desire to continue contributing to the safety and security of Circleville. The department is looking forward to the positive impact he will have on the team and the community as a whole.

“We’re thrilled to have him back,” the Chief added. “Welcome back, Bob!”
