Doyne N. Wiggins, Circleville, Ohio, died January 1st, 2025, at Logan Elm Health Care Center. He was 82 years old. He was a minister, an educator, a law enforcement officer and Chaplin.
Doyne is survived by his family and friends. Funeral arrangements were handled by the Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home. The family requests no flowers.
Doc Wiggins served as chaplain under Sheriff Dwight Radcliff and was available to counsel staff and the families of victims of accidents and crime for many years.
His tenure as a teacher at Logan Elm schools brought him generations of students who respected and lived him.
He had no biological brothers but all of us who wire the black shirts if deputies were his adopted brothers.
He was a daily fixture at Berger Hospital and area nursing homes praying with anyone who needed his care.
He was the minister at many area funerals bringing comfort and much-needed prayer to families.
He would talk about his experiences riding with deputies all over Pickaway County wearing his deputy uniform with pride. Adding to the lives of all the law enforcement officers he met and spent time with.
He said that we were ok at officers’ funerals as hard as they were to attend.
