PICKAWAY COUNTY, Ohio — On September 12, 2024, law enforcement officials responded to reports of reckless driving on State Route 104, leading to the arrest of Johnny McClarren after a series of aggressive and disruptive actions.

At approximately 7:00 PM, Deputies were dispatched to investigate a driver who was reported to be weaving in and out of traffic and tailgating. The vehicle, described as an orange Chevy HHR, was seen traveling southbound on SR 104. While heading northbound, Deputies spotted the vehicle closely following a semi-truck and proceeded to initiate a traffic stop after safely executing a U-turn.

Upon approaching the vehicle, Deputies informed the driver of the vehicle Johnny McClarren of the complaints against his driving and asked him to provide his driver’s license. McClarren, who was on his cell phone, ignored multiple requests to hang up and comply. His continued refusal to cooperate led Deputies to ask him to exit the vehicle.

Deputies then directed McClarren to place his hands on the vehicle. Despite these instructions, he reached for his phone and displayed hostile behavior. As he was escorted to the rear of the deputy cruiser, McClarren became increasingly aggressive, using offensive language and refusing to follow commands.

During the encounter, McClarren displayed signs of intoxication, including slurred speech and a strong odor of alcohol. While a search of his vehicle was conducted, a hospital visitor badge with his name was found, confirming his identity as Johnny McClarren.

In the rear of the cruiser, McClarren continued to act out, demanding a supervisor and making derogatory remarks. When his girlfriend and her father arrived at the scene, they were informed of his arrest and the vehicle’s impoundment.

As McClarren was transported to jail, he demanded medical attention but refused to specify the reason. McClarren’s behavior remained hostile, and he continued to insult Deputies

En route to the jail, McClarren appeared unresponsive, prompting the Deputy to request a medic. After a sternum rub was performed to assess his condition, McClarren showed increased hostility upon regaining coherence. He complained of chest pain but was medically cleared by the fire department upon their arrival.

At the jail, McClarren was read the BMV 2255 form but refused to sign it. He was provided a copy of the form and remained in custody following his medical clearance.

McClarren was charged with Failure to disclose personal information, OVI, and Resisting Arrest
