OHIO – Heads up, Columbus drivers! Major construction continues on Interstates 70 and 71 downtown, and this weekend brings significant lane closures and detours. Here’s what you need to know:
Full Closure:
- I-70 westbound: Closed from 10 p.m. Friday, February 9th to 5 a.m. Monday, February 12th.
Detours:
- I-71 NB to I-670 WB to SR 315 SB to I-70 WB
- I-670 to SR 315 to I-70 WB/I-71 SB
- Front St. to Rich St. to SR 315 SB to I-70 WB
- Fulton St. to 4th St. to Rich St. to SR 315 SB to I-70 WB
Ongoing Impacts:
- I-70 eastbound exit to Front St.: Permanently closed since June 2022. Use the designated detour.
- W. Fulton St.: Closed between Short St. and Ludlow St. since June 2022.
- Livingston Ave.: Closed to through traffic at City Park Ave. until Fall 2024.
- SR 315 south to I-70 east: Merged traffic pattern in effect for about a year.
- Front St. between W. Mound St. and W. Fulton St.: Two-way traffic since October 2023.
- Front St. bridge over I-70: Closed for replacement until Spring 2025. Use designated detours.
- Mound St. between 2nd St. and Civic Center Dr.: Closed until Summer 2024. Access to I-70 westbound maintained. Use designated detour.
