HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — A multi-agency investigation has resulted in the arrest of a Huntsville man and the seizure of a substantial quantity of illegal drugs and firearms, authorities announced Monday.

Robert Young, 39, was arrested on Friday, April 4, following a months-long narcotics investigation led by the North Alabama Drug Task Force, with support from the Priceville Police Department and the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation prompted a BOLO (Be On the Lookout) alert for Young’s vehicle, which was later located by Priceville Police. During a lawful traffic stop, a K-9 unit alerted to the presence of narcotics, leading to a search of the vehicle that uncovered two kilograms of cocaine.

Following the traffic stop, law enforcement executed three search warrants at locations in Huntsville and Limestone County. These searches yielded:

  • 1.3 pounds of methamphetamine
  • 1.03 pounds of fentanyl
  • $8,000 in cash
  • Three handguns

Young was taken into custody and booked into the Madison County Jail on trafficking charges for methamphetamine and fentanyl, with bond set at $1.25 million per charge. He also faces additional charges in Morgan County for cocaine trafficking and in Limestone County for fentanyl trafficking.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing, and additional arrests are expected.

Law enforcement officers noted that some of the drugs were discovered in unusual hiding places, including a doughnut box. “Seriously—a doughnut box?” one officer quipped. “That’s the first place we’d look!”

Authorities remind the public that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
