The 2025 "Earth Gathering" Art Festival in Chillicothe

Chillicothe — The annual Earth-Day themed art festival will be 11 to 6 Saturday on the grounds of the Pump House Center for the Arts.

In conjunction with the Chillicothe Art League‘s “Spring Open” show inside (see related story), you can find local hand-made items among the tents of the “Earth Gathering” in Yoctangee Park.

I caught Shelley Pocock, coordinator and founder of the Earth Gathering, at the end of a busy day of preparation Friday. In the below on-site video interview, hear her explain what to see, hear, do…and eat, at the family-friendly event.

From the Facebook event page: “This annual juried invitational art festival (now in its 25th year) represents a simple, natural approach to festivals. It is a free gift from the Chillicothe Art League to the community with the help of David Meade Massie Trust and local donors.

“The festival was designed to promote Earth-friendly art, music, food, products and ideas and inspire the public with songs and art about nature…

“The Chillicothe Art League invites artists, musicians and organizations from with a 100-mile radius of Chillicothe to apply. Vendors sell affordable, quality, hand-made art such as jewelry, fiber art, clothing, hats and purses, sculpture, painting and collage, functional and decorative ceramics, candles, garden art, honey, soaps and more. “

And yes, the weather should be better all-around on Saturday than it was on Friday.
