KINGSTON – A tragic house fire on Elm Street claimed the life of a man on Thursday afternoon.
Firefighters responded to the blaze around 1:30 PM after receiving reports of a fire inside the home. Upon arrival, crews found smoke and flames rising from the structure.
Acting swiftly, firefighters entered the smoke-filled home after being informed that someone was inside. Unfortunately, a man was discovered deceased.
A woman was rescued and transported to Adena Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The Red Cross has been contacted to assist her in the aftermath of the fire.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation. Updates will follow as more information becomes available.
