Emergency Response Underway at Logan Elm Schools Due to Potential Gas Leak

LOGAN ELM, OHIO — The Logan Elm School District is currently managing an emergency situation involving a potential gas leak at the 6-12 building. The local fire department and gas company are on-site to assess the situation and ensure safety.

Students from grades 6-12 have been evacuated to McDowell, where they are currently under the supervision of their teachers and school administration. The district has announced that the elementary school will be closed for the day due to the ongoing situation.

  • Evacuation Details: According to a recent update from Logan Elm Elementary, students who normally ride the bus will be dismissed at 8:15 AM. Parents who need to pick up their children should enter through the East entrance, park, and sign out their child in the McDowell cafeteria. Student drivers will be permitted to retrieve their vehicles once the main building has been cleared.
  • School Closure: As previously reported, all classes for grades PK-5 have been canceled for today.
