Chillicothe and Ross County — If you are a “young professional” and you want to network and learn, the Chillicothe Ross Chamber of Commerce has a group for you.
EPIC, “Empowering Professionals In Chillicothe,” has several events each month for their members. I spoke with EPIC president Anna Armistead after their Wednesday event, “County Government 101.”
She said it was one of two bimonthly “Lunch and Learn” gatherings that focus on education for members. In this case, EPIC member and Ross County Commissioner David Glass explained the various officials and duties of county government.
(I also wanted to ask Glass about changes to the Yoctangee Park plans, which you can learn about in a companion story.)

Armistead said EPIC is an organization that focuses on attracting and retaining professionals age 18 to 45. She said “professional” is meant to be inclusive – not just people who own their own business or have an office job.
She said they also have “Rise & Grind” morning gatherings that are more of an interview style of connecting. And, EPIC gives public service with a cleanup series around Ross County; the Clarksburg Cleanup will be April 5th.
Armistead said it’s a la carte for members to choose events. Hear her in her own words in the below interview video.
EPIC has a website, Facebook page, Instagram account, and can also be found on the Chamber website.
