
LANCASTER, OH — Fairfield County is celebrating a pair of prestigious honors that highlight the county’s dedication to thoughtful growth and regional collaboration.
The county’s Comprehensive Plan has received the Honor Award from the American Planning Association’s Small Town and Rural (STaR) Division, recognizing its innovative and community-centered approach to planning. Developed in partnership with Planning NEXT, the plan outlines a forward-thinking strategy for land use, infrastructure, economic development, and quality of life, all shaped by extensive community engagement.
In addition to the planning award, Fairfield County Commissioner Jeff Fix was honored with the 2024 Regional Leadership Award from the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC). The award acknowledges Fix’s outstanding contributions in advancing regional initiatives, building intergovernmental partnerships, and promoting sustainable development throughout Central Ohio.
“These awards reflect years of thoughtful planning and strong partnerships,” said Commissioner Fix. “Fairfield County remains committed to managing growth in a way that honors our community’s character and ensures that our region remains a great place to live, work, and play.”
