Fairfield County, OH – Deputy Shanes and his K-9 partner, Rafa, recently graduated from K9 SWAT school, adding another layer of service to Fairfield County.
Rafa is now a certified member of the SWAT team, trained and equipped to participate in specific high-risk operations. This expands her already impressive repertoire of skills, which includes assisting with patrol duties, detective work, and narcotics detection.
In addition to her new role, Rafa remains a valuable asset for the Sheriff’s Office in her regular duties. Her keen sense of smell, exceptional training, and unwavering loyalty make her an indispensable member of the team.
The Sheriff’s Office is proud to have such a highly trained and dedicated K-9 team serving Fairfield County.
