Family-Friendly Winter Hike at Stage’s Pond State Nature Preserve on February 15

Ashville, Ohio (January 27, 2025) — The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) invites nature lovers of all ages to join a guided Winter Hike at Stage’s Pond State Nature Preserve on February 15 at 10 a.m. This family-friendly hike is part of ODNR’s Winter Hike Series, offering a chance to explore the preserve’s scenic winter landscape.

Participants will enjoy a 1.5-mile guided trek through Stage’s Pond’s glacial pond, open meadows, and mature woodlands. Along the way, naturalists will share insights into the ecology of the area, while hikers take in the beauty of winter. The trail is relatively flat, making it an easy walk for people of all skill levels.

Hikers are encouraged to dress warmly and wear sturdy footwear for the trek. After the hike, each participant will receive a commemorative winter hike sticker, while supplies last.
