Fatal Crash in Fairfield County Claims Life of Motorcyclist

A tragic accident occurred in Greenfield Township, Fairfield County, on Thursday night, resulting in the loss of life of a 54-year-old motorcyclist.

According to the Lancaster Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash happened shortly after 10:00 PM on July 25 at the intersection of State Route 158 and Rainbow Drive. Craig Berstler, of Baltimore, was driving his 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on State Route 158 when his vehicle collided with a 2018 Ford Fusion driven by Joshua Krannitz, 24, of Lancaster.

Troopers report that the crash happened when the Fusion and the motorcycle collided in the intersection.

Berstler was rushed to Fairfield Medical Center via EMS, where he was pronounced deceased. Krannitz sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The incident serves as a sobering reminder of the importance of safe driving practices and the devastating consequences of reckless behavior on our roads.
