Jackson, OH – A fatal crash occurred on Saturday, January 4, 2025, on US 35 near milepost 6 in Jackson Township, Jackson County. The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) responded to the scene at approximately 10:45 PM.

The crash involved Jason Frey, 46, of Chillicothe, Ohio, who was driving a 2021 Audi A5 westbound on US 35. According to authorities, Frey failed to navigate a curve, causing him to veer off the left side of the road. Assisting on scene were the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Ohio Department of Transportation, Jackson County EMS, Coalton Fire Department, Mapes Towing, and Durham’s Towing. Both eastbound lanes of US 35 were closed for approximately one hour to allow for crash investigation and cleanup.
