Fayette County – One person died after a semi-crash occurred on I-71 Friday evening just outside the Green County Line.
The crash was reported around 7:30 pm on Friday night involving a car and a semi-truck on the Southbound lanes of I-71 close to SR-435. According to witnesses at the scene, a newer Nissan small suv rear-ended a Schneider truck causing the fatality.
Fayette County Sheriff Stanforth announced a closure of the interstate around 7:50 p.m. where it was closed for several hours for an investigation. The name of the victim has yet to be released
